DAILY WELLBEING

Care & Welfare Guidelines

Policy 01

Admissions and Placements

We complete detailed compatibility assessments and impact risk assessments prior to any admission. This matching process ensures the home can meet the young person's needs while maintaining stability for existing residents.

Policy 02

Care Planning

Every resident has a tailored, child-centred care plan. We track personal goals, organize structured daily routines, schedule regular keywork sessions, and coordinate closely with local authority social workers.

Policy 03

Behaviour Support and De-escalation

Our approach relies on positive behaviour support and trauma-informed de-escalation methods. We focus on rebuilding self-esteem, setting clear boundaries, and resolving conflicts safely without restriction.

Policy 04

Physical Intervention / Restraint

Physical intervention is used strictly as a last resort to prevent injury or harm, using approved methods only. It requires immediate medical checks, comprehensive logging, manager reviews, and a child debrief session.

Policy 05

Medication Management

We enforce strict procedures for storing, administering, and recording medication. Staff undergo regular competency assessments, and we maintain precise control and auditing systems for all prescribed drugs.

Policy 06

Health and Wellbeing

We support physical and emotional health, registering children with local GPs and dentists, facilitating routine medical checkups, and collaborating with CAMHS and therapeutic specialists.

Policy 07

Nutrition and Food Hygiene

Nutritious, freshly prepared meals are planned by our kitchen team. We maintain clean food preparation areas and provide practical education on healthy choices, balanced diets, and basic cooking skills.

Policy 08

Education Support

We actively coordinate with local schools, colleges, and virtual schools to support educational enrollment, monitor attendance, assist with homework, and help develop life skills and CVs for the future.

RECRUITMENT & STANDARDS

Staffing & Professional Practice

To keep children safe and meet high safeguarding standards, our pre-employment checks, professional boundary guidelines, and mandatory training frameworks are structured to maintain maximum safety and trust.

01

Safer Recruitment

Before joining our team, all prospective employees must pass enhanced DBS checks, right-to-work verifications, employment history reviews, qualification audits, and a minimum of two professional references, including their most recent employer.

03

Training and Induction

All new staff complete a mandatory induction program covering child protection, behaviour management, first aid, medication administration, and GDPR. This is followed by specialized training in trauma-informed care and ACES.

Staff Conduct / Code of Ethics

Our code of conduct sets clear boundaries, professional expectations, and ethical guidelines. It ensures all staff model positive behaviour, maintain absolute respect, and focus entirely on the welfare of the young people.

We support protected characteristics, cultural backgrounds, religions, and gender identities. Our anti-discrimination practice ensures that every young person feels valued, represented, and supported in their unique identity.
